I just read an article in Canfitpro Magazine, written by Dr.Stephen de Wit, in which he answers the question that many of us have thought about at one point in our lives. “Does sex count as exercise?” (Canfitpro-Sept/Oct 2016)
Dr.Stephen goes on to prove that the treadmill wins out over the actual act, simply because we can keep going longer and with more intensity while on the machine. He does however say that sex with ourselves or with a partner, can be “seen as an exercise of personal expression” that “promotes a healthier mindset overall.”
I would add that regular exercise that elevates your heart rate, combined with yoga training that promotes flexibility and strength, can make the experience that much more enjoyable.
I am sure that everyone would agree that calories and energy are definitely burned during sex. It is part of living an active, healthy lifestyle. It just can’t replace your workout at the gym.
