Fitness does feel good and it will give you a natural high if you do it often enough and under the proper guidance.

Just to be clear, I am not talking about walking. I am talking about formal exercise in a gym with a certified group fitness instructor or personal trainer who works all of your muscles in a balanced fashion. During your workout session you want to work up a bit of a sweat, get your heart pumping and walk away feeling as though you have given your best effort. You should feel energized, like your whole body is humming. Some people call this a ‘buzz.’

If you can workout two to three days a week, for a month, you will begin to experience the workout buzz and you will actually start to crave exercise as a way to relieve stress and make you feel good emotionally.

The problem I face as a fitness instructor is getting people to commit to attending classes, without fail, for months at a time, so that they can feel this buzz and the benefits or regular exercise.

Classes began a few weeks ago but already students are starting to skip for many different reasons.

Today’s blog is just a reminder that if you truly want to live your best life, you have to put your health first.

If you are tired of feeling tired and want to rid yourself of pain and be able to participate fully in your favorite activities, you need to make yourself a priority.

Yes, I realize that life gets in the way sometimes. We get a cold or we have to take care of a relative or the car breaks down or we sleep in. Honestly though, you know an excuse from a legitimate reason when it comes to missing exercise. I am just here to remind you that missing two or three classes in a row is a slippery slope and can lead to giving up completely because you never really reach the moment where you feel the buzz.

My job as a fitness leader is to distract you from the uncomfortable nature of working out and I do this with good music and fun moves that will hopefully keep you coming back for more.  Once you truly see how much better you feel and find the joy of fitness for yourself, you will be asking me to give you more and that’s what I live for!

If you cannot make it to classes, I have fitness videos that can help you to workout in the comfort of your own home and a book to go along with it or call me to set up a personal training session.  Find the videos from the Home page under Shop.

Please just get moving. There are so many options today to help you to get fit. Pick one today and get started.

See you soon,

Beth
